Come smash some fun and make new friends at Queer Pickleball Night—everyone’s welcome on the court! 🌈 Queer Pickleball Night! 🏓🌈 Sponsored by Limestone Clinic Kingston Counselling & Psychotherapy Looking for a fun, welcoming way to meet other LGBTQIA2S+ folks while getting a little exercise? Come play with us! Our Queer Pickleball nights are all about community first, pickleball second: lots of games, lots of laughs, and a chance to meet people you might actually want to play with again. Friendly competition? Absolutely. Intense, win-at-all-costs energy? Not tonight. 🏓 Event Details • 🌈 $5 to reserve your spot • 📍 Fairgrounds Kingston • 🕕 Arrive at 5:45 PM for check-in • 🏓 Court time is 6:00–8:00 PM • 🎾 3 reserved courts • 👥 Limited to 12 players • 🤝 Mix it up with different partners and opponents • 🎁 Random draws for queer-themed prizes at the end of the night • 😊 Friendly, welcoming, queer-affirming atmosphere ⏰ Why does the event say 5:45? Because when the courts start at 6:00, we want to be playing pickleball at 6:00! 😂 Please aim to arrive at 5:45 PM so you have time to check in, change your shoes, say hello, find your people and be ready to hit the courts when our reservation begins. With only three courts this time, every spot matters — and we want everyone to get the full two hours of play they've paid for. 🌈 Sold out? Join the waitlist! We're starting with 3 courts and 12 player spots, but that doesn't necessarily mean we're stopping there! If there’s enough interest and Fairgrounds has additional courts available, I’ll do my best to reserve another court or two and open up more spots. So if registration is full, please join the waitlist rather than assuming you've missed out. And keep an eye on your email — if we're able to expand the event, we'll let waitlisted players know that more spots have opened up. 🎉 The more people on the waitlist, the better I can gauge whether we need more courts. 🏓🌈 🕐 Can you only play for one hour? NO PROBLEM! You are absolutely welcome to come for only part of the evening — we just need you to help us keep that court spot filled. If you want to play from 6:00–7:00 only, find someone who would like to take your spot from 7:00–8:00 (or vice versa), coordinate the swap between yourselves, and let us know who is taking over your spot. That way you get the hour that works for you without leaving three other players with an empty fourth spot — or making someone who paid to play spend part of the evening sitting out. This way, everybody wins. 🌈 🎒 A few things to know • Basic pickleball knowledge is recommended. • This is not a lesson night. • You do not need to come with a partner. • BYOP — Bring Your Own Paddle! 🏓 If you don't have one, please arrange a rental directly with Fairgrounds. • Bring or buy a drink — hydration is your friend! • Please register individually, even if you're coming with friends. We need each player's contact information so we can send important event updates if needed. • Please only reserve a spot you intend to use. With just 12 player spots available, a no-show means other people lose playing time. If something comes up, let us know ASAP so we can offer your place to someone else. • If you and your friends/partner are all coming, please check with each other so nobody accidentally reserves an extra spot. 🌈 And what happened to Rainbow Rally? With three courts this time instead of six, we're giving our Red/Orange/Yellow/Green/Blue/Violet team competition a little vacation. Instead, we'll concentrate on playing lots of pickleball and meeting lots of people — maybe a little silliness mixed in, and we'll have random draws for some fun queer-themed prizes among the players who are still with us at the end of the night. 🎁🌈 So staying until 8:00 may have its perks. 😉 Whether you've been playing for years or only recently discovered that pickleball is surprisingly addictive, you're welcome here. You do not need to be an amazing player. You do not need to be ultra-competitive. You definitely do not need matching athletic outfits. But if you wanna, we're not stoppin' ya. Just come ready to move, laugh, meet some wonderful humans, and play some pickleball. No pressure. No elimination brackets. No pickleball drama. Just good people, good games, and a Tuesday night with Kingston's Queer Pickleball community. 🌈🏓💕 🌈 Prizes? Oh yes. We may be taking a break from Rainbow Rally scoring, but we are NOT taking a break from prizes. 😂 🎁 We’ll have random draws for prizes among the players who are still with us at the end of the night. 🏆 And because apparently regular athletic wear isn't gay enough for us, for September's night, we'll also have a prize for BEST COSTUME! 🌈✨ Costumes are completely optional — come in whatever you can comfortably play pickleball in. But if you've been waiting for an excuse to play pickleball dressed as a disco ball, rainbow unicorn, Liberace, or something we haven't even thought of yet... This is your moment. Just make sure you can safely swing a paddle in it. 😂🏓
