Join us in welcoming Dorothy Wright-Wallace, The University of Guelph's first visiting Black Elder and Director of CKBHS, to campus. Title: In conversation with Dorothy Wright-Wallace, The University of Guelph's first visiting Black Elder Description: Dorothy Wright-Wallace was born March 2, 1943, in the city of Chatham, Ontario and has called its Black community home ever since. In her 70s she went to volunteer at the local Chatham-Kent Black historical society and found her true calling as a Black historian. Dorothy is a tour guide, a storyteller, the president of the Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society and treasured Grandmother to her community and any guest or student that finds their way to Chatham’s East End. Dorothy will be leaving the East End and traveling to Guelph on November 5 as The University of Guelph's Visiting Black Elder to meet and teach. On November 5th at 4pm, Wright-Wallace will be interviewed by Josh Shreve, the Executive-Director of the Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society, about her life and work. Please join us for this live conversation! This event is supported by the Office of the Provost and the College of Arts Interdisciplinary Programs at the University of Guelph.
