In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to talk about what you do, who you’re best suited to work with, and what makes you a good choice—without feeling like you’re bragging or having to compete on price. You’ll work on how to: • Explain what you do clearly and confidently • Talk about your skills and experience in a way that connects with customers • Describe what makes you different from the competition • Build a simple pitch you can use when meeting a new customer, getting a referral, or looking for work • Feel more comfortable talking about why someone should hire you Who should attend This workshop is for anyone in the skilled trades who wants to get better at talking about their work, including: • Apprentices and journeypersons • Experienced tradespeople looking to take the next step • Independent contractors and business owners • Tradespeople thinking about starting their own business • Anyone who wants to feel more confident talking to customers and getting their value across Part of Scaffold for Success Selling Yourself is part of Scaffold for Success, a six-part workshop series through Conestoga College’s Venture Lab for Skilled Trades. The series covers practical business skills that can help you get more work, work with better clients, and build a stronger business. You don’t need a business background to take part. Attend one workshop or take part in the full series. There’s no requirement to attend all six.
