Treevening: Guided Nature Walk at Medway Valley Heritage Forest

Join the UTRCA and City of London on a guided walk of Medway Valley Heritage Forest. Discover Medway Valley Heritage Forest (MVHF) Environmentally Significant Area (ESA) at this Treevening event hosted by the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority and the City of London! Part of a year-long celebration recognizing London as the 2026 Forest Capital of Canada by the Canadian Institute of Forestry, this event series invites the community to connect with nature through engaging, tree-focused evening sessions. MVH ESA provides habitat and food for wildlife such as fish, insects, amphibians, and birds. The ESA contains 12.2 kilometers of trails following both sides of Medway Creek. This guided interpretive tour of MVHF ESA will highlight habitat for Species at Risk, different types of forests, and other special features of the ESA. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy, weather-appropriate footwear, as the guided walk will take place through wetlands and woodlands with uneven, potentially muddy terrain. Treevenings are designed to be welcoming, educational, and accessible, with formats ranging from informal drop-ins to guided walks and talks, making it easier for everyone to grow their knowledge and appreciation of the urban forest. Registration is appreciated, but everyone is welcome and the event is completely free.
