November 19, 9 am to noon Where? Scholars Lab, Creative Suite Additional information: The KAIROS Blanket Exercise is an interactive workshop that teaches participants about the history between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. There will be two facilitators (including one Indigenous Knowledge Keeper) who will read scripts covering topics like pre-contact, treaty-making, and colonization, and participants will also be provided reading parts and will be asked to respond to prompts made by the facilitators. The exercise can be both an emotional and an intellectual experience. We will end the session with a talking circle, led by our Indigenous Knowledge Keeper. Please plan for the session to take the full three hours. Please note that you will be asked to remove your footwear when participating in the activity. We ask that you plan to bring / wear socks or slippers. We will provide some resources after completing the exercise but in case you've not yet had a chance to review the recently released Indigenous Allyship Guide, here is the link: https://indigenous.uwo.ca/allyship/
