White as Snow - A young woman's battle between two gods

A Queer ex-preacher traces the arc from altar to aftermath in this lyrical blend of spoken word, humour, song, and story. On the heels of a successful US debut at the New York City Fringe this spring, Haitian-Canadian multi-hyphenate artist, comedian and cultural worker Rose-Ingrid Benjamin is bringing her play White As Snow across Canada by way of the Edmonton Fringe Festival this summer and fall. “This isn’t a clean narrative about leaving faith behind. It’s messier than that. It’s about holding love and harm in the same space. About realizing the thing that saved you might also be the thing you have to let go of.” - Stephen Kearley, Hi! Drama Told through song, poetry and Benjamin’s own words, White As Snow examines what it means to Directed by Kyle Brown, featuring musical direction and compositions by Katie James and art design by Nataly Kais, the performance will run approximately 60 minutes.
