Daniel Cainer & Bob Bossin

About this event

UK's Daniel Cainer on tour with Gabriola's own Bob Bossin bring their funny, poignant, brilliantly literate songwriting to Nanaimo. Two seasoned songwriters and storytellers in one intimate evening. Daniel Cainer is a multi-award-winning, internationally acclaimed British songwriter. Christine Lavin — no slouch herself — calls him 'the best songwriter in the English-speaking world.' 'Strong, literate and touching,' adds Scott Cook. Bob Bossin founded Stringband, authored Davy the Punk, purveyed Bossin's Home Remedy for Nuclear War and has written such classic Canadian folk songs as 'The Maple Leaf Dog,' 'Tugboats,' 'Dief will Be the Chief Again,' and 'Show Us the Length. 'Only a handful of songwriters have created a body of work that constitutes a portrait of our country. Stan Rogers did that. So did Gordon Lightfoot. And so does Bob Bossin.'
