Invest in yourself! Join the Black Parent Collective to learn practical ways to bring some peace to your busy days. Parenting can be rewarding, but it can also leave you feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and stretched in every direction. Calming the Chaos is a 1.5-hour interactive workshop created specifically for Black parents who are running on empty and looking for realistic ways to reduce stress and burnout. Facilitated by Antoinette Burrell, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Clinical Director of GardenView Therapy, this workshop goes beyond a traditional lecture. Through guided discussions, group activities, and hands-on creative exercises, parents will have an opportunity to pause, connect, reflect, and explore practical strategies that can be used at home. Participants will explore: • Understanding the unique pressures that can contribute to burnout for Black parents • Practical strategies for managing stress and emotional overwhelm • Tools to support emotional regulation for both parents and children • Strategies for improving communication and strengthening family relationships • Ways to create more space for rest, support, and self-care • Reducing the stigma around asking for help and recognizing when support is needed The workshop recognizes the cultural expectations and pressures that can contribute to Black parents feeling like they must constantly “do it all”—while balancing work, family, and the many responsibilities of everyday life. This is a space to name those pressures, connect with other parents, and leave with tools that are realistic for everyday family life. Childcare: Childcare will be provided upon request. Please email [email protected] with the number of children who require care. Food: Don't worry about dinner as we have it covered! We're happy to accomodate any dietary restrictions, please email [email protected] with your dietary requirements in advance.
