Full description from organizer

Get ready to join us at the Canada-Africa/Asia Global Health, Disability, Autism & Social Justice Conf for a deep dive into important issues Welcome to the 7th Canada–Africa/Asia Global Health, Disability, Autism & Social Justice Conference, a distinguished international forum bringing together healthcare professionals, social workers, disability and autism advocates, researchers, educators, policymakers, community leaders, caregivers, organizations, entrepreneurs, and professionals from Canada, Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and other regions of the world. The conference will be held in person in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, providing an international platform for professional dialogue, knowledge exchange, networking, collaboration, research, and the development of practical solutions in global health, disability inclusion, autism support, social development, accessibility, human rights, and social justice. An International Platform for Professional Exchange The conference is designed to create meaningful opportunities for participants to engage with international experts, organizations, practitioners, researchers, advocates, and community leaders. Participants will have the opportunity to: • Connect with international professionals and organizations from diverse countries, cultures, and professional disciplines. • Learn from experienced speakers, researchers, practitioners, advocates, and subject-matter experts working across global health, disability, autism, social work, inclusion, and social justice. • Participate in expert panels, professional presentations, interactive sessions, workshops, discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities. • Explore innovative practices, evidence-informed approaches, and practical solutions for improving healthcare, disability services, autism support, accessibility, inclusion, and social equity. • Develop international professional networks, institutional relationships, and collaborative partnerships. • Exchange knowledge and professional experiences across Canada, Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and other international regions. • Identify opportunities for research collaboration, professional training, education, community development, advocacy, organizational cooperation, and international engagement. • Gain new perspectives on inclusive healthcare, accessibility, disability rights, autism services, social protection, human rights, and equitable community development. • Establish professional connections that can continue beyond the conference through future collaboration, knowledge exchange, research, training, and partnership initiatives. • Experience a genuinely multicultural and international professional environment in Canada. English & French Accessibility Recognizing Canada's bilingual character and the diversity of international participants, the conference will provide programming in English and French, with bilingual sessions and professional interpretation support available where applicable. This approach is intended to promote broader participation, accessibility, meaningful communication, and professional engagement among delegates from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. International Participants & Conference Invitation Letters International professionals, delegates, researchers, practitioners, organizational representatives, and other eligible participants are welcome to attend the conference. Following successful registration and confirmation of participation, eligible international delegates may be issued an official conference invitation letter confirming their participation, the conference details, the purpose of their proposed visit, and the expected period of attendance. The invitation letter may be included as part of an individual's supporting documentation when applying for the appropriate Canadian travel authorization. IRCC confirms that letters of invitation can help establish that the purpose of a visit to Canada is valid; however, an invitation letter does not guarantee the issuance of a visa. Visa officers independently assess each application according to Canadian immigration legislation and the applicant's individual circumstances. Applicants should therefore provide complete and truthful supporting documentation demonstrating the temporary and legitimate nature of their visit, including, where applicable, evidence of employment or professional activities, financial capacity, accommodation arrangements, travel plans, family or economic ties, and their intention to leave Canada at the end of their authorized stay. IRCC states that visitor-visa applicants must satisfy an officer that they have sufficient ties and will leave Canada at the end of their visit. Conference Registration and IRCC Event Recognition Where applicable, conference organizers may pursue or maintain registration of the event with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in accordance with IRCC's procedures for meetings, events, and conferences. If an official IRCC event code has been issued for this conference, registered international participants will be provided with the event code and relevant instructions for including it in their visa application. IRCC explains that an event code helps identify an applicant as a participant in an event registered with IRCC. Important: Conference registration with IRCC, where applicable, should not be interpreted as a guarantee, endorsement, sponsorship, or promise of visa approval. Each participant remains individually responsible for satisfying all Canadian immigration and admissibility requirements. Aligned With Canada's Current Immigration Environment The conference recognizes Canada's evolving immigration environment and the Government of Canada's current emphasis on sustainable immigration levels, effective management of temporary resident programs, economic and community priorities, and the integrity of Canada's immigration system. Canada's 2026–2028 Immigration Levels Plan establishes lower targets for new temporary resident arrivals while maintaining Canada's ability to facilitate eligible visitors and international engagement. The current plan establishes an overall target of 385,000 new temporary resident arrivals in 2026, with lower notional targets for 2027 and 2028. Importantly, IRCC explains that these temporary-resident targets concern new temporary workers and international students and do not include short-term visitors arriving with TRVs or eTAs. The conference therefore provides a legitimate short-term platform for international professionals to engage in professional development, knowledge exchange, meetings, networking, research dialogue, and international collaboration, while participants remain responsible for complying with the conditions of their Canadian visitor status. A Platform for Global Collaboration This conference is more than a conventional professional gathering.
