Explore the urban riverbank with our guides and learn how nature's engineers the beavers shape our local environment and thrive within the city. Join us for a walk-and-talk along the South Saskatchewan River to discover what makes beavers such an important part of the ecosystem. This is not a wildlife spotting tour, it is a conversation about the amazing animals that call the Meewasin Valley home(although we hope to see some of these wonderful creatures along the way!) All proceeds from this experience support Meewasin’s conservation and education programs, making this a truly sustainable experience. 🎉 Event Highlights 🎉 Guided Educational Tour: Join one of our wonderful Meewasin guides for an informative journey focused on the beaver and other animals that make their home along the South Saskatchewan River. Explore Canada’s Largest Urban Conservation Zone: Discover the efforts underway to preserve this natural treasure right in the heart of Saskatoon. Nature in an Urban Environment: Explore how we share this space with beavers, including the ways they influence the aquatic systems here in the city. Discover the Importance of this Keystone Species: Learn about the unique adaptations of beavers and how they impact the environment around them. 👍 Inclusions & Exclusions 👎 Your ticket price includes: • 1.5 hour experience led by a Meewasin guide. • An in-depth conversation on the role of beavers in the Meewasin Valley. Your ticket price does NOT include: • Transportation to and from the tour start and end locations. Please arrange your own travel and parking arrangements. • While you will learn tons of interesting facts, we cannot promise that beavers will be spotted (unfortunately, they are not employees of Meewasin!) 📖 Guest Information 📖 • Limited availability: Only 30 spots available per tour. • Tour distance is 1.5 - 2 km on naturalized trail. Guests should expect to be outdoors and walking/standing for approximately 1.5 hours. • Tour start and end locations: This tour begins and ends at the West Weir Parking Lot by the Canadian Pacific Railway bridge. • Please dress for the weather - things like a water bottle, hat, sunscreen, bug spray and proper outerwear will make your experience more enjoyable.
