He began his musical journey on the guitar, learning predominantly blues, rock, and jazz studying Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and Wes Montgomery! At the age of 19 , Tony was given the opportunity to spend three days playing rhythm guitar for the legendary Buddy Guy. A few years later, he had the prestigious opening slot for the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre. Tony has spent 18 years as the lead guitarist for MonkeyJunk, releasing 5 full-length recordings and touring extensively in Canada, the United States, and Europe. MonkeyJunk received two JUNOs for Blues Album of the Year, 25 Maple Blues Awards, and a Blues Music Award International. Tony also has two releases under his own name - Tonehead (2020) and Electric Delta (2024).
