Full description from organizer

Celebrate 10 years of this award-winning documentary exploring family, identity and the connections between Musqueam and Chinese heritage. Sunday, November 22, 2026 | 2:00–4:00 PM Doors open at 1:30 PM. The program begins promptly at 2:00 PM. Location: The Cinematheque Theatre 1131 Howe Street, Vancouver, BC About the Film Ten years ago, All Our Father’s Relations brought an extraordinary family story to the screen. Since then, this award-winning, made-in-Vancouver documentary has reached audiences through community screenings and broadcasts across Canada, as well as film festivals in the United States and Beijing. At the heart of the film is the Grant family’s search to better understand their father’s Chinese roots and his complex relationship with their Musqueam mother. Their journey takes them from Vancouver to China, uncovering layers of family history, identity and belonging along the way. Raised primarily in Musqueam traditions, the Grant siblings’ story reveals unexpected connections between Indigenous peoples and migrant communities, exploring how the past continues to shape the present. Special 10th Anniversary Screening To mark the film’s tenth anniversary, the Vancouver Historical Society invites you to a special screening followed by a discussion and celebratory reception with Musqueam Elder Larry Grant and producer Sarah Ling. They will share insights into the film and their latest work and collaborations, including Ling’s upcoming documentary, China Lily Nation. The event will also pay tribute to the late Howard E. Grant and Gordon J. Grant, both featured in the film, and honour their legacies. Join us for an opportunity to revisit this remarkable film, hear directly from those involved in its creation, and reflect on the histories that connect us. Program Schedule: 1:30PM - Doors Open 2:00 - 3:10PM - Welcome & Screening 3:10 - 4:00PM - Panel and Reception For questions or additional information, please contact the Vancouver Historical Society at [email protected].
