Dance Spells: Creative Movement & Somatics

A weekend class in Sunrise-Hastings that is somewhere between play, dance, somatics, creative exploration, and community connection. Purchasing a ticket may mean (one or all may be true): • You want more movement and spaces to eplore creative and abstract art forms! • You are curious about participating in this class in the future and want to check it out first! • You are scared shitless by this description, but this year you are really trying to get our of your comfort zone. Dance Spells is a creative movement and performance series created by Contemporary choreographer and Trauma-informed Somatic practicioner, Vanessa Woulfe. The group meets weekly to play with various dance scores (ways of creating choreography). We focus on creative expression, non-judgement, and emphasize process over perfection. Sometimes we will create small performances and show each other (when we are in the mood). Our performances are not well-polished. They are put together quickly, as a way to exercise following the first impulse and leaving behind an overly critical mind. This one-off event is an introduction to ME and the practice, to see if its something you'd like to commit to for a short series in October-November. As a ticketholder, you choose your comfort level of participation! You are welcome to watch the entire session from afar; You may choose to fully participate; or you may be somewhere in between! This session is FREE of charge if you bring a friend! Otherwise there is a suggested donation of $15-20 (no one turned away for lack of funds). Feel free to book your spot and bring a cash donation or physcial offering. If you are interested but cannot make it, please connect and let us know! There will be online options and more events in the near future. www.stellarfeels.com Details: Eton Studios, Vancouver BC Tuesday, October 13th 12:00PM - 1:00PM & Eton Studios, Vancouver BC Sunday, October 18th 2:00PM - 3:00PM //Contact// [email protected] www.stellarfeels.com @stellar.feels
