Friendsgiving Party - A Social Experiment

Thanksgiving is traditionally a time where communities and neighbours bring food and celebrate things they're thankful for: a job, a place to live, being in Canada, freedom and most importantly great family, friends and community. In an age where people may be far from home, it's hard to have the thanksgiving experience. Vancity Connections (CouchSurf Van), The Meetup Community Network & YVR Communities invite you to Friendsgiving 2026, a social experiment where we aim to make Vancouver a more connected place through food and icebreakers and games! We've hosted dozens of 'strangers BBQ' social experiments since 2012 bringing together hundreds of people and making meaningful connections. We hope to continue the experience with the Thanksgiving party this fall! Whether you're new to town, been here all your life, don't have anyone to celebrate Thanksgiving with or have people but you want to meet more people, you're invited to our Friendsgiving event!
