Infidels Jazz Presents: Darius Jones Trio at Alliance Francaise Theatre

Critically Acclaimed Saxophonist & Composer makes his long awaited return to Vancouver Darius Jones is one of the most critically acclaimed alto saxophonists & composers currently working in Jazz, avant-garde & Black music. He's known for collaborations with Matthew Shipp, William Parker, Matana Roberts, Fay Fictor, and more. He was featured on the cover of The Wire magazine for fLuXkit Vancouver (-i-t-s suite but sacred), a monumental album written and recorded at the Western Front in Vancouver, featuring drummer Gerald Cleaver and some of Vancouver's most lauded musicians. Darius' relationship with Vancouver goes back well over a decade, and is excited to be returning to perform in the inaugural year of VanJazz. He'll be joined by Chris Lightcap (known for his work with Nels Cline, Regina Carter & Anthony Braxton) on bass and Tim Angulo (known for his work with Kamasi Washington, Jeff Parker & Reggie Workman).
