Get ready to jam and laugh as you dive into the wild world of musical improv comedy! Some improv proficiency recommended. Intro to Musical Improv Comedy Join us at the Carousel Theatre for Young People - Studio A where you can unleash your creativity through music and improvisation. Musical Improv performance is gaining popularity thanks to shows like Make Some Noise, and this is a great place to get your feet wet and see what it's all about without the commitment of a multi-week class. You don't need to be an excellent singer, just a willingness to be bold and jump in with what you've got. We recommend at least 1 year of standard improv training or an equivilant, with understanding and basic proficiency at, "Yes, And-ing." This workshop is targeted both towards folks brand new to musical improv, and those with a bit of experience who want to freshen up their skills. During this workshop, we'll take you through some relaxed and fun excersises focusing on building comfort making noise joyfully, and learning a basic song structure with the aim to be able to belt out a full improvised song as a group. By the end you should have a sense of what comes next if this turns out to be your thing! Presented by Vancouver Musical Improv Company with Bradley Duffy, and Dan Simmons on the keys.
