Special Guests: Professor Hugh Gusterson Hugh Gusterson is a Professor of Anthropology and Public Policy at UBC whose work focuses on nuclear weapons, militarism, security, and the culture of science and technology. He has spent much of his career studying the people and institutions behind nuclear weapons and is the author of Nuclear Rites: A Weapons Laboratory at the End of the Cold War, People of the Bomb: Portraits of America’s Nuclear Complex, and Drone: Remote Control Warfare. Professor M. V. Ramana M. V. Ramana is a Professor and the Simons Chair in Disarmament, Global and Human Security at UBC’s School of Public Policy and Global Affairs. His research focuses on nuclear weapons, nuclear energy, international security, and disarmament. He is also the author of Nuclear Is Not the Solution: The Folly of Atomic Power in the Age of Climate Change and The Power of Promise: Examining Nuclear Energy in India. Your hosts for the evening Paige Eager Paige joined Rebel Book Club in London in July 2018.
