A free celebration of art & community, with a Harvest Fair, Twilight Lantern Procession, Streamside Lanterns, and 100+ artists & performers. While all events are free, we request that you make a $10 donation if you can comfortably afford it (or more, if you like!). Harvest Fair | Twilight Lantern Procession | Streamside Lanterns Join us for the main day of the Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival, a favourite autumn event for Vancouverites! The main festival day transitions through three events and travels between two venues. For the best experience, we encourage you to come for all three parts: Harvest Fair, Twilight Lantern Procession, and Streamside Lanterns. Part 1: Harvest Fair 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM (Sunset) at Slocan Park Kick off the Moon Festival’s main day! Enjoy a relaxed afternoon of performances and activities in Slocan Park. Part 2: Twilight Lantern Procession 7:01 PM (Sunset) to 7:15 PM, starting from Slocan Park and ending at Renfrew Community Park Walk with colourful puppets and performers among surprising sounds and sights, with Balkan Shmalkan leading the procession with live music. We invite you to carry a lantern with you! The procession leads from the Harvest Fair to Streamside Lanterns, following the Renfrew Ravine and Still Creek. Part 3: Streamside Lanterns 7:15 PM to 9:15 PM at Renfrew Community Park Explore illuminated art and intriguing sounds among the towering trees and the flowing waters of Still Creek. An introduction to Still Moon's newly completed Water Woman giant puppet, made with the love and care of many community members. Produced by Still Moon Arts. Puppet built by Carmen Rosen with Willoughby Arévalo, Liz Oakley, Sesemiya, and Joe Boyd, with participation from over 750 community members. Sesemiya (Tracy Cameron): For 20+ years, Sesemiya has been engaged with revitalizing Coast Salish cultural practices. Through research, collaborative experimentation, and consultation with Knowledge Keepers, Sesemiya’s work embodies her deep knowledge of Skwxwu7mesh lands and waters. A fifth-generation cedar weaver, the objects she makes extend directly from her practice of gathering and preparing wild materials. Her work has appeared in exhibitions at Vancouver Art Gallery, Bill Reid Gallery, Polygon Gallery and the Contemporary Art Gallery. In 2021, a commissioned work of Sesemiya’s was included in the Vancouver Art Gallery’s presentation of Yoko Ono’s Water Event. Sesemiya is a proud member of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nation. Windermere Jazz Band is an off-timetable course composed of Grade 9-12 students. The Jazz Band offers students the opportunity to play many different styles of music within the jazz idiom, including blues, funk, Latin, swing, and rock styles. The Jazz Band is essentially a music community within the program, as they work together closely, go on field trips to watch and learn from professionals, and study the history of this incredibly diverse art form. BallyClaire is a Vancouver-based songwriter and self-produced artist originally from Australia, creating alt-folk/rock that moves between quiet confession and emotional release. Written across hundreds of songs over the past decade, her work explores grief, belonging, and the fragile beauty of being human. Her performances are adaptable to space and setting, shaped by atmosphere, presence, and connection. Influenced by Joni Mitchell, The Cranberries, and Adrianne Lenker, her sound blends folk intimacy with alternative edge. (Web/IG) Uncle Trent and Friends: Trent and Bryce watched their dad from a young age sit at the kitchen table and write songs. He always had a pot of coffee, a lit cigarette, and an old tape recorder. They would hide in the next room and listen to the stories their dad would create. Their love of music and storytelling would eventually inspire them to start performing alongside their dad and create their own space in the global music landscape. (Web) House of Indian Dance is a Vancouver-based training program in Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance, open to kids, adults, and complete beginners. Founded by choreographer Vidya Kotamraju, presented by Dancing on the Edge and the Vancouver International Dance Festival, HOID's mission is breaking barriers in Indian dance, one step at a time. (Web) MAUVEY is a Canadian multidisciplinary artist blending Afro-influenced rhythms with pop, hip-hop, alternative, and electronic music to create immersive, emotionally charged performances. Rooted in storytelling and cinematic world-building, his work explores identity, transformation, and human connection. Fresh off performances at Glastonbury Festival in 2025, MAUVEY has shared stages with Talib Kweli, Oxlade, July Talk, Dear Rouge, and Snotty Nose Rez Kids while pushing genre and performance boundaries through music, film, and visual storytelling. (Web/IG) Ana Polgár is an urban planner who developed a love for painting and eco-arts. After a couple of years working in urban planning for climate change adaptation in Europe, Asia, and Africa, she moved to Vancouver to conduct doctoral research. Her practice and research on ecosystem-based adaptation and socio-spatial justice are driven by curiosity, compassion, and a love for nature. This is also reflected in her colourful illustrations and her work with Still Moon Arts. Pili’s art is inspired by their own fantasy, dreams, nature, as well as myths and legends from various cultures. This symbolises the shared human experience of wonder and curiosity of the world around us.
