West End Diwali Celebration

Let’s spark joy together! Celebrate Diwali at Gordon Neighbourhood House with music, dance, food & light in the heart of the West End. Diwali—also known as the Festival of Lights—is one of the most important and widely celebrated holidays in India and among South Asian communities worldwide. It is a time to honour the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. We’re proud to host a community celebration at Gordon Neighbourhood House, that brings this spirit to life through music, dancing, food, and community. This celebration is open to everyone—whether you’ve celebrated Diwali before or are joining for the first time. Come light up the neighbourhood with us! Our space will be transformed with glowing lights, colourful decorations, and the uplifting sounds of kirtan chanting—a meditative and joyful musical tradition that invites reflection and unity. The evening will also feature a dance performance, delicious vegetarian food, and a sparkler display to close the night. 📅 Date & Time Saturday, November 7th, 2026 Doors Open at 5:00pm for Pre-Event Activities Performances Starts at 6:00pm 🎟️ Tickets Available Online and at the Gordon Neighbourhood House Front Desk Only 100 tickets available, this event sells out every year! -Adults: $14 -Kids under 18: $10 -Tickets purchased online include a small ticket processing fee - If cost is a barrier to attend, please email [email protected] Program Schedule 5:00 PM – Doors Open; Snacks & Chai Served; Henna; and Vendors! 6:00 PM – Kirtan (Call-and-Response Singing) Performance Begins. Please Arrive and Find a Seat 5 minutes Before Start 6:50 PM – Dance Performance 7:30 PM – Delicious Vegetarian Dinner: Paneer Butter Masala and Dum Aaloo; Cumin rice; Naan; Raita; Gulab Jamun.
