Creating Color with Natural Dyes

Create a vibrant color palette with plants and learn the fundamentals of natural dyeing on textiles in this fun hands-on class! Learn about the magic of creating color with plants with artist Katey Rissi in this introduction to natural dye workshop. This class will lay a solid foundation down to help you understand the fundamentals of how natural dyeing works, so you can continue a dye practice yourself. We will discuss the history of plant color, what fabrics to use, how to prepare fabric for dyeing, and of course, which plants to work with. Students will leave the class with a dye swatch book and a bundle dyed bandana. Location: This class is located in the Art Barn at our Field Campus. This campus is located at 45 Hawthorne Lane. Registration: Please register early if you are able, as it helps us to assure that classes meet their minimums in order to run! If you register more than three weeks before this class begins, a 20% early bird discount will automatically be applied to your ticket at checkout.
