Let's Talk About Safety in Downtown Victoria

Let's chat about making downtown Victoria a safer, friendlier place for businesses, neighbours, and visitors. As Victoria employers continue to navigate what it means to work downtown, we’ve heard and experienced ourselves what it means to feel uncomfortable in the city, and maybe your teams have noticed this too. To help address this, we’d like to invite you to join us for a practical conversation on supporting employee safety, well-being, and connection whether your team is returning to the office, working hybrid, or has been downtown all along. We love Victoria, and we love supporting our local business and community - meeting them where they are at, like we have supported remote teams for years. This is a free event grounded in practical ways to talk about safety with more confidence and less stigma. We're excited to host a conversation with Terri Healy from the City of Victoria's Community Safety & Bylaw Services team on October 15 from 10-12 at KWENCH. She brings extensive frontline and community safety experience, and she offers a practical, trauma-informed perspective on what helps people feel safer coming to work and moving around in the downtown core. This session will explore: • Personal safety and situational awareness • When and how to contact police, bylaw, public works, or outreach supports • Available community resources • How business leaders can respond to employee concerns in a balanced, informed way. Registrants will be given the opportunity to submit anonymous questions ahead of the session so Terri can address specific experiences and concerns directly. Space is limited so register early.
