Oct 25TH - ALL DAY RENTAL FAMILY Showing online on Sunday October 25th ~ All Day Running Time: 1hr 49m / Year: 2025/ PG Production: Japan/USA Directed by Hikari In English and Japanese with subtitles An American actor in Tokyo struggling to find purpose lands an unusual gig: working for a Japanese "rental family" agency, playing stand-in roles for strangers. He rediscovers purpose, belonging, and the beauty of human connection. A little back story: In Japan, the concept of Rental Families has been around since the 1600s. But in the 1980s, the tradition resurfaced. The corporate training world initially used actors, but the industry has since evolved to include everyday people hiring acting troupes that specialize in standing in for family members in various situations for a plethora of reasons. That is where Japanese director HIKARI got the idea for this gem of a film. ______________________________________ FAQS (Film Apropos Questions Silly!) Doors and Concession open at 6:30pm.
