Acclaimed Vancouver comedy artist June Fukumura brings you a satirical solo performance about art and capitalism. Impulse Theatre presents Sumiko in Nature: Concept to Realization by June Fukumura Thursday, November 12 + Friday, November 13 | 7pm Intrepid Studio (2-1609 Blanshard St) $40, $25, $20, or $10 Sumiko in Nature: Concept to Realization is a satirical solo performance about art and capitalism. At its centre is Gloria Fukomachi, who promises to reveal the secrets to funding success by using June’s real-life grant application as a teaching tool in her Grant Writing 101 workshop. But the workshop quickly spirals into a meta-theatrical fever dream, unleashing a play within a grant within a play. Absurdity, charm, and humour collide to expose the paradox of what it takes to survive and thrive as an artist.
