Event Waiver, Policies & Acknowledgement By purchasing a ticket and/or attending the Sonata on Stage Halloween Dance Fundraiser, the ticket purchaser and attendee acknowledge and agree to the following: Assumption of Risk & Responsibility Participation in this event is voluntary. Attendees understand that a dance and social event may involve normal risks associated with physical activity, dancing, crowds, costumes, decorations, food/beverages, and use of the event facility. By attending, participants voluntarily assume responsibility for their own participation and conduct. Minors For any attendee under 18 years of age, the person purchasing the ticket confirms that they are the attendee’s parent/legal guardian or have authorization from the attendee’s parent/legal guardian to purchase the ticket and consent to their participation in the event. The purchaser accepts responsibility for ensuring the minor understands and follows all event rules. Release of Liability To the extent permitted by law, attendees and/or their parent or legal guardian agree to release and hold harmless Sonata on Stage, Sonata Piano Studio, event organizers, staff, volunteers, performers, and the event venue from claims arising from ordinary risks associated with participation in the event, except where liability cannot legally be waived. Personal Property Attendees are responsible for their own personal belongings. Event organizers are not responsible for lost, stolen, forgotten, or damaged personal property. Behaviour & Safety All attendees are expected to behave respectfully and follow instructions provided by event staff and volunteers. Harassment, bullying, fighting, dangerous behaviour, possession or use of illegal substances, or behaviour that jeopardizes the safety or enjoyment of others will not be tolerated. Event organizers reserve the right to remove an attendee from the event without refund when necessary for safety or serious misconduct. Costumes Costumes are encouraged but not required. Costumes, props, masks, or accessories must not create a safety hazard or interfere with the safety or enjoyment of other guests. Event organizers may require unsafe or inappropriate items to be removed. Food & Allergies Attendees and/or their parent or guardian are responsible for communicating and managing any food allergies, dietary restrictions, medical conditions, or other individual needs. While reasonable precautions may be taken, an allergen-free environment cannot be guaranteed. Photography & Video Photos and/or video may be taken during the event for event documentation and promotional purposes. Anyone who does not wish to be photographed or recorded should notify event staff upon arrival. Tickets & Refunds Tickets are intended for this fundraising event and are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organizer. Failure to attend, removal for serious misconduct, or a change in personal circumstances does not entitle the ticket holder to a refund. Emergency Situations In the event of an emergency, event staff may contact emergency services and take reasonable steps necessary to protect the health and safety of attendees. Parents/guardians remain responsible for providing accurate emergency contact information for minors where requested. Agreement By completing the ticket purchase, the purchaser confirms that they have read and understood these policies and agree to them on behalf of themselves and, where applicable, any minor attendee for whom they are purchasing a ticket.
