Solvent-Free Oil Painting Masterclass with Kimberly Brooks

THE NEW OIL PAINTING: WEEKEND EDITIONA two-day, information-rich, solvent-free oil painting intensive and professional-practice event with Los Angeles-based artist and author Kimberly Brooks. The programme begins on Friday evening with a private dinner, a preview and discussion of Kimberly’s books, and an opportunity to meet her personally before the studio workshop begins. This is an important part of the event: an intimate evening for conversation, professional exchange and networking with an artist who is extremely well connected within the international art world. Kimberly is the author of The New Oil Painting and an established painter, writer and arts professional. Her career encompasses painting, publishing and arts journalism, and she brings substantial knowledge of both studio practice and the wider professional art world. Over two full days in the Berlin studio, Kimberly will introduce participants to painting with oils entirely without solvents. Her approach is safer, simpler and more sustainable, without sacrificing the colour, range or physical pleasure of oil paint. This is not simply a technical painting course. It is also a professional-practice opportunity for artists who want to develop their work, gain insight into an established international artist’s career and make meaningful professional connections. Two subsequent online sessions allow participants to continue their paintings, ask questions and receive further guidance directly from Kimberly. .
