SCENEWORK DREAMWORK – Improv Workshop with Stacey Smith – Düsseldorf

Evening improv workshop on scenework with Stacey Smith, former artistic director of Boom Chicago Amsterdam. After the sold-out “Find the Fun Faster”, Stacey Smith returns to Düsseldorf – this time with a deep dive into the art of scenework. This improv scenework workshop in Düsseldorf is about getting the full potential out of every scene. You learn to establish strong relationships, raise the stakes deliberately and play scenes that feel like real, gripping stories. At the centre is the question: what is the heart of this scene? You practise playing with emotional truth and building rich, meaningful moments together with your scene partner. Stacey Smith is a performer, director and teacher. She was artistic director and director of education at Boom Chicago in Amsterdam and has toured internationally with The Second City. ✓ Build strong relationships between characters ✓ Raise the stakes and charge scenes emotionally ✓ Find the heart of a scene and play to it ✓ Work with emotional truth instead of just punchlines Level: improvisers with experience Language: simple English (German translation possible) Venue: SPONTAN THEATER Studio, Volmerswerther Str. 21, 40221 Düsseldorf-Unterbilk Teacher: Stacey Smith On Saturday, 21 November, Stacey also teaches the full-day workshop PLAY IT BY EAR.
