The Game's Afoot, a comedy by Ken Ludwig (in English)

It’s Christmas 1936. Broadway star William Gillette–famous for playing Sherlock Holmes–welcomes his fellow cast members to his secluded country house for a weekend of champagne, wit and theatrical mischief. But as the guests settle in for the night, one of them is murdered–and everyone seems to have a secret. With the killer still inside the house, Gillette slips into the role he knows best and turns the weekend into a real-life Sherlock Holmes mystery. As the suspects’ secrets unravel, the line between performance and reality begins to blur–and Gillette must unmask the murderer before there is another victim. Packed with mayhem, hidden motives and perfectly timed laughs, The Game’s Afoot is a glittering Christmas comedy where drawing-room mystery meets full-throttle farce–each twist revealing a fresh clue, raising the stakes and keeping audiences guessing until the final curtain falls.
