THE SPACE BETWEEN – Improv Workshop with Daniel Orrantia – Düsseldorf

One-day improv workshop on space, storytelling and connection with Colombian improviser Daniel Orrantia (PICNIC Theatre Company). In this improv workshop in Düsseldorf, the space itself becomes the storyteller. You explore how place and surroundings shape stories and relationships on stage – and how single scenes slowly grow into one connected narrative. At the centre is the question: what invisible connections arise between characters and the space they share? You work with storytelling structures, poetic action and the techniques of shelving and endowment, and experience how small choices create big stories. Daniel Orrantia is a Colombian improviser, director and touring performer, artistic director of PICNIC Theatre Company and the MonkeyFest International Improvised Theatre Festival in Bogotá. He taught two workshops in Düsseldorf in 2023. ✓ Use space and place as a storytelling tool ✓ Discover connections between characters and their surroundings ✓ Build scenes that slowly grow into a story ✓ Work with shelving and endowment Level: improvisers with experience Language: simple English (German translation possible) Venue: SPONTAN THEATER Studio, Volmerswerther Str. 21, 40221 Düsseldorf-Unterbilk Teacher: Daniel Orrantia All upcoming workshops and courses: SPONTAN THEATER course calendar
