Join the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult as we address uncertainty in grid modelling and reliability for increasing renewable energy. Addressing Uncertainty in Grid Modelling and Reliability for Increasing Renewable Energy Integration

Vollständige Beschreibung lesen

As renewable generation plays an increasingly significant role in our electricity systems, the ability to accurately model, predict and manage system behaviour is becoming ever more critical. Yet there remain areas where current power system models do not fully predict the behaviours subsequently observed in real-world operation. Join the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult at WindEnergy Hamburg for an interactive roundtable bringing together experts from across the energy system to explore where these uncertainties are emerging, why they matter for grid integration and reliability, and what industry can collectively do about them. What will we discuss? This 90-minute facilitated roundtable will explore: • Where do current models struggle to represent real-world system behaviour? • What is driving the gap between modelled and observed performance? • What are the implications for grid integration, compliance and system reliability? • Where could better models, data, validation, physical testing, standards or collaboration improve confidence? • What should industry prioritise in the near, medium and longer term? • Where are the opportunities for collaborative R&D, demonstration and testing? This is not intended to present a finished solution. We want to hear directly from industry about the challenges being experienced today and use the discussion to identify areas where greater collaboration, research and innovation could make a difference. Who should attend? We particularly welcome representatives from: • Transmission System Operators and network organisations • Wind farm developers and operators • Wind turbine and electrical system OEMs • Grid technology, power electronics and control system providers • Power system modelling and simulation specialists • Research and technology organisations • Universities and technical experts working on grid integration • Organisations involved in grid codes, standards and system compliance Why attend? This is an opportunity to contribute to a focused discussion with organisations from across the energy system, compare experiences and help shape potential priorities for future collaborative activity. ORE Catapult will capture the key themes and opportunities identified during the session to inform follow-up engagement and potential areas for collaborative investigation, testing and innovation. Places are limited to ensure a genuinely interactive roundtable discussion, so advance registration is essential.
