Full description from organizer

Live West African drums. DJ. Dance. Connection. Sober partying. DRUMATICS is a live dance experience combining the raw energy of West African percussion with electronic music and facilitated dance.Throughout the night, we move between live drumming, DJ sets, and the two coming together. At times, our dance facilitator will guide the room through movement and shared experiences. At others, the space is completely yours — to dance, explore, connect, or simply be.Our dance facilitators will teach you completely beginner-friendly West African dance steps that are closely connected to the rhythms of the drums — movements you can take with you as inspiration onto the free dance floor. ------------------------------------------------------------------ About the facilitators We are a team of drummers, DJs, and facilitators — some of us with West African culture running through our blood, and others learning closely from the source. Alky Plus / Alkhaly Camara (Dance Facilitator) https://www.instagram.com/alkyplus/ Professional dancer and choreographer from Guinea Conakry, educated both at the famous dancing scene of Conakry and in 2014 from the National Guinean Academy of Arts “Institut Superieur des Arts de Guinée”, specializing in traditional Guinean dances and rhythms. He is associate director and choreographer of Ballet Fonike, one of the major traditional dance groups in Guinea, as well as dance director for the modern dance and theater group Tawuly Creation. In 2012 he founded his own dance company in Dubreka, Guinea, called Compagnie Alkhaly Camara, now active in Copenhagen. Mamadouba Bangoura (Djembe master) https://www.instagram.com/madianabangoura/ An experienced djembe master, musician, and teacher (djembefola) originally from Kindia, Guinea, who is currently based and active in Helsingborg, Sweden. He has been playing the djembe since childhood and regularly tours and teaches throughout Scandinavia. Jack Strand (Djembe playa) https://www.instagram.com/jackstrandstrand/ A mix of cultures with a deep passion for dance, music and expression. Jack is a patient, encouraging and highly enthusiastic teacher that loves sharing his passion for drumming. One of his favorit things is to hold a space where people can move through the sense of 'I cant' or shame, to empowerment and expression. Drumming has been a powerful tool for just that on his own journey. Amalie Marcuslund Overbye (Dance Facilitator) https://www.instagram.com/amalie.beautality/ A professional dancer and Somatic Experiencing® therapist with Brazilian, Cuban, Tanzanian, and Jamaican dance traditions woven into her upbringing. Across disciplines, her work is guided by the question: What does it take to create a space that offers a sense of belonging and enough safety to dance and play. Kalle / Kalleology (DJ & Drummer) https://www.instagram.com/kalleology/ Except for pancakes, Kalle is a big fan of drumming and DJing. Just like he enjoys his pancakes both savoury and sweet, he enjoys mixing a wide range of genres with the intention to make you move, sweat, and scream. Tritone Crisantemo (Plant Music Pioneer & Drummer) https://www.instagram.com/tritonecrisantemo/ A researcher, sound engineer, and the visionary architect behind the Masterplants Orchestra. Living and working within the spiritual and ecological research community of Damanhur in Northern Italy, Tritone has spent years exploring the intersection of high-fidelity sound design and biological intelligence. His work is defined by a sensitive musicality that treats the electrical fluctuations of plants not as random data, but as a sophisticated, living language. Simon Von Stumpenhusen (Drummer) https://www.facebook.com/simon.vonstumpenhusen Just a dude that likes to occasionally hit a drum. ------------------------------------------------------------------ We want to create a different kind of night out. What happens when the fierce vibrancy of West African rhythm and dance meets the gentleness of a conscious gathering?DRUMATICS brings these worlds together on the dance floor — with West African dance traditions shared by teachers rooted in them.No alcohol or drugs needed — just rhythm, movement, and the dance floor we create together. We want to create a space where you are not simply watching or consuming something, but are part of what is happening. The boundary between audience and performer becomes less important. The music responds to the room. The room responds to the music. We believe music and dance can bring us closer to ourselves and to each other. They can bring us into our bodies and create moments where we feel fully present, engaged, and alive.DRUMATICS takes inspiration from conscious dance, ceremony, club culture and the ancient human instinct to gather around rhythm — without trying to be only one of those things.Come dance with us. ------------------------------------------------------------------ THE EVENING 19.15 – Doors open 19.45 – Gathering in the community space 20.00 – Guided landing & movement 20.20 – Live drums & West African dance into DJ set & dancefloor 21.40 – Landing & ambient sounds 22.00 – Journey ends ------------------------------------------------------------------PRACTICAL INFO What to bring: - A water bottle - Comfortable clothes for moving, sweating & dancing What not to bring: Alcohol or drugs.
