About this event

Full description from organizer

How do we archive performance as a live art form? And how do we remember and commemorate lived experiences through dance and performance? Emerging across the community around HAUT, we notice connected questions around memory, erasure, commemoration and archiving in the performing arts. We therefore invite artists, curators and colleagues for our upcoming seminar PERSPECTIVES ON: MOVING ARCHIVES on November 12 and 13, 2026, where we invite interdisciplinary perspectives on memory and archiving into conversation with one another. PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS THURSDAY begins with a panel conversation on HAUT's own archive of the Danish performing arts field with former HAUT team members Naja Lee Jensen, Betina Rex and Sophie Grodin. They will converse about archiving and knowledge-sharing practices as a foundation and anchor point throughout HAUT’s existence. Together, they will reflect on resources and methods for documenting the performing arts in dialogue with HAUT’s artistic leader, Lili Blum. Then, artist, researcher and queer witch Vala T. Foltyn will lead a softer and embodied workshop. The workshop will be based on Vala’s artistic practice, which operates at the intersection of politically engaged performance art, archiving and memory. FRIDAY begins with two keynotes with Nina Cramer and Storm Møller Madsen on archives, counter-archives, memory and erasure in the performing arts. The two researchers will enter a conversation about their work uncovering overlooked histories and creating space for othered bodies that have been traditionally excluded from the archives. The conversation is moderated by Elizabeth Löwe Hunter and Phyllis Akinyi, who manage HAUT's artist care and knowledge program. Then, multidisciplinary artist, designer, curator and workshop facilitator Abdul Dube will take us through a workshop on visual harvesting. In addition to documenting the seminar across both days, Abdul Dube will introduce the documentation practice of visual harvesting through examples from previous projects, as well as work produced during the seminar itself. The workshop will be followed by a Q&A session with Abdul and the participants. We end the seminar with a 'fredagsbar'.
