Raunchy + Support: The Vision Ablaze

Raunchy: Twelve Years in the Dark, and a Homecoming to Mighty Music There's a particular kind of silence that follows a band when nobody's quite sure if they're done or just sleeping. For Raunchy, that silence lasted the better part of a decade — and now it's broken. Prisoner, the seventh studio album from the Danish genre-benders, lands in summer 2026 via Mighty Music — the same label that first put them on record back in 2001. A full-circle moment, and the band knows it. "It feels right being back at Mighty," says drummer Morten "Molle" Toft Hansen. "We've been around the block — Nuclear Blast, Lifeforce, Massacre — and there's something about coming home to the people who believed in us first. They get what this band is." For longtime fans, that's almost the entire story right there. Raunchy have always been the band that belonged everywhere and nowhere — too melodic for death metal purists, too heavy for the radio crowd, too synth-driven for the metalcore kids, and too riff-forward for anyone trying to file them under industrial. Prisoner doesn't try to resolve that contradiction. It leans into it. Raunchy aren't promising another album in two years. They've never worked that way. But they are promising shows, and the energy around the reunion feels different than a typical comeback cycle. "We're not chasing anything," Molle says. "We made the record we wanted to make. If people show up, that's the gift. And if they don’t, we’ll still have an album we’re proud of." Twelve years between albums. Same band. No apologies. Formed in Copenhagen, this melodic metalcore band has been crafting music that fuses melody, muscle, and meaning since the release of their critically praised debut album. With an ear for atmosphere, an instinct for groove, and a heart tuned to emotion, The Vision Ablaze followed it up with a powerful sophomore release — introducing vocalist Tim Nederveen, whose dynamic range and presence now define the band’s voice. Since then, they've released a string of singles and two EP’s: Visions and Heartless Design. Including the brooding, ambitious cover of Street Spirit (Radiohead). The latest, Heartless Design, is the band’s most personal work to date, with Lars Lerager producing, mixing, and shaping every sonic detail in-house. Mastering was handled by Stockholm Mastering ( Ghost, Meshuggah, Opeth, Katatonia ), giving the tracks a powerful punch. Each step deepened their sound, blending clean and growled vocals, layered riff work, and a rhythm section that lets the bass breathe instead of burying it. Their music moves from precise to chaotic, from crushing to cathartic, and always with purpose. Now, The Vision Ablaze is preparing to release their third album in 2027. Live, The Vision Ablaze is every bit as intentional as in the studio. No gimmicks, no half-steps, but honest, tight, emotionally charged performances that connect. You’ll feel it in the room. That’s why fans keep coming back. The Vision Ablaze gives you music that goes beyond trends. They deliver songs that linger in your heart forever.
