WORKSHARING: MAAYII ميّي‭

IN CONNECTION: MAAYII ميّي‭ ‬ Join us for this worksharing where artists NANCY NASER AL DEEN , KONGI MILKA MBUNGA and YANG CHENG share and open up their work as part of their residency at HAUT. MAAYII ميّي‭ ‬ is a shared word for water in both Congolese Lingala and the Arabic of Bilad al-Sham. Water flows, carries, connects, erodes, remembers. MAAYII is a performance about what happens when we allow ourselves to flow across borders, histories, bodies, and wounds. Maayii brings together three multidisciplinary performance artists based in Europe with origins in soils of abundant sunlight; KONGI MILKA MBUNGA (Kinshasa, DRC), YANG CHENG (Taiwan), and NANCY NASER AL DEEN (Lebanon/Egypt). --- IN CONNECTION is HAUT’s international residency program, connecting artists based in Denmark with international contexts and international artists with the performing arts scene in Copenhagen. The residency is developed in collaboration with international partners – currently workspacebrussels (BE) and RAS (NO) – and tailored to the needs of each artist and project. This residency is curated by our partners at workspacebrussels.
