Acting For Life

Have fun. Learn new skills. Surprise yourself. When was the last time you did something completely different? Something that made you laugh, challenged your imagination, pushed you a little outside your comfort zone... and left you feeling fantastic? Welcome to ACTING FOR LIFE! A lively, creative and wonderfully unpredictable acting workshop for adults who want to discover what happens when they let go, loosen up and dare to play. You don’t have to be an actor. You don’t need any previous experience. And you certainly don’t need to memorise a script! All you need is a little curiosity and a willingness to give something new a go. What’s it all about? Through a series of entertaining, practical theatre activities, you’ll explore how actors use their imagination, voice, body and emotions to bring characters and situations to life. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to: • Unleash your creativity... Discover ideas and abilities you never knew you had. • Laugh and have fun... Rediscover the sheer pleasure of playing. • Build confidence... Challenge yourself in a relaxed, supportive environment. • Express yourself... Experiment with communication, spontaneity and presence. • Connect with others... Meet interesting people and share an experience you’ll remember. • Learn something new... Take away practical insights and techniques you can use on stage and in everyday life. Who is it for? Absolutely anyone aged 18 or over! Perhaps you’ve always fancied trying acting but never quite dared. Perhaps you’ve performed before and would love to rediscover the magic. Or perhaps you’re simply looking for an enjoyable, stimulating way to spend a Saturday morning. Whatever your background, you’re welcome. Our workshops are designed as standalone experiences, so you can join at any time. There’s no need to have attended a previous session. Meet your workshop leader Caspar Jones brings around 40 years of acting experience, a passion for theatre and an infectious enthusiasm for helping people explore their creative potential. Expect an energetic, hands-on morning with plenty of participation, encouragement and laughter. Three hours. A world of possibilities. We spend so much of our adult lives being sensible, responsible and predictable. For one Saturday morning, why not try something different? Come as you are. Leave with a little more confidence, a little more creativity — and a big smile. Places are limited to keep the experience friendly, personal and interactive. Go on. Give it a go. Life’s too short to sit in the audience! About IPA Productions IPA Productions is an educational theatre company based in Barcelona, established in 1997. We perform around 1,000 educational theatre productions every year, working extensively with schools and young audiences. Alongside our performances, we use acting techniques, improvisation, voice work, roleplay and practical theatre exercises to help actors, teachers and professionals develop communication and performance skills. Our philosophy is simple: You learn performance skills by performing. Our workshops are active, supportive and participative, giving people the opportunity to experiment, make discoveries and develop techniques they can actually use.
