Diagram Prompting. Drawing the world — Mucho x OFF BDW 2026

How does changing how we represent an idea change how we think? A Mucho workshop exploring diagrams and AI to generate new ideas. Before language, before code, before any AI, there was a line drawn simply to think: the first human symbol was a drawing. And the diagram, its natural evolution, reveals something we often forget: we think spatially, not just verbally. As part of OFF BDW 2026, and in the spirit of PRO-TEST, this workshop by Mucho brings this ancestral tool to the present. We will use drawing to interact with artificial intelligence, question its predictions as well as our own, and generate entirely new ideas. Starting from a shared theme, we will explore different diagram configurations, alternating between humans and AI to add responses, connections, and new possibilities. It is not about drawing better, but about thinking differently: changing how we represent an idea changes how we think about it. A different diagram, a different perspective can generate different responses and open up paths we might never have imagined.
