We'll break down the mechanics comedians use to make devastating material land (displacement, escalation, absurd substitution, and tonal control) with examples from some of the best in the game. Then you'll write your own dark material using guided prompts, with time to share and get feedback. Led by Belinda Filippelli, whose debut solo show The Heart Mind C*nt Connection tackles suicide, grief, deep family disfunction, and survival through comedy.
