A weekend of Chan meditation near Madrid with monastics from Wei Mountain Temple — to calm the mind, restore sleep, and rebuild resilience. For some of us, our minds keep racing even after work or when we try to sleep. Have you ever wondered, “How can I really relax?” We have a technique to quiet the mind. This weekend is designed to teach you that technique, so you can learn to calm your mind by yourself. In our teachings, the reason people can't fall asleep is rarely the body — it's an anxious mind still running, still worrying, with nowhere to rest. 🌿 Chan meditation is like the gym for the mind. During these three days of practice, our monastics will give you the tools to keep training after the retreat. But our work goes beyond the retreat. Many of our participants stay in touch with us so we can continue guiding them. 🌿 As your mind becomes stronger and you learn to concentrate better, you may find that your sleep and focus improve and that you are better able to handle stress. He left the home life to become a monk under Master YongHua in 2018. Since then, he has served as abbot of temples in South Korea, San Francisco, and now Wei Mountain Temple in Los Angeles. He is known for spending real time with people — always ready to sit, talk, and listen — and many say they feel a deep sense of peace simply being near him. He regularly teaches Chan meditation classes and Dharma talks, and led a European teaching tour in May 2025 that included Madrid, where many already feel connected to him. His closeness and dedication continue to help students find calm, clarity, and steadiness in their own practice.
