Learn More About the National Tour: Together We Create 4 Kids National Tour Every child has a voice. Every child has a story. Sometimes, they simply need the right people, resources, encouragement, and opportunities around them to help them believe in what is possible. In celebration of National Literacy Month, Together We Create 4 Kids is bringing a Literacy & Empowerment Experience to Milwaukee! This is more than a children's book event. We are bringing together authors, educators, mentors, businesses, nonprofits, churches, community leaders, and resource organizations for a day designed to invest in children, youth, adults, and families. When we say literacy, we are thinking bigger than simply putting a book into a child's hands. We want young people to read, write, create, communicate, build confidence, discover new possibilities, and understand that their voice matters and their story has value. We want families to leave with more than memories from a great event. We want them to leave with books, resources, connections, technology, information, encouragement, and greater access to opportunity. 📚 EXPERIENCE THE LITERACY VILLAGE One of the centerpieces of the Milwaukee experience will be our Literacy Village, an interactive space designed to bring literacy to life. Children and families will experience reading, storytelling, children's and youth authors, creative writing, hands-on literacy activities, family engagement, and opportunities for young people to discover the power of their own voices and stories. We will also welcome community leaders and special guests into the Literacy Village to read with children and help us celebrate the importance of literacy. But the Literacy Village is bigger than September 26. Our vision is to develop it into a traveling literacy experience that can continue reaching children and families through schools, neighborhoods, community events, and other spaces beyond this event. 💻 500 LAPTOPS AVAILABLE FOR ELIGIBLE YOUTH & ADULTS! Access to technology can open doors to education, employment, information, and opportunity. Through our partnership with Techquity, we are excited to have 500 laptops available for eligible youth and adults as part of the Milwaukee experience. Please Note: Registering for the event does not guarantee a laptop. Individuals interested in receiving a laptop must meet eligibility requirements and complete the required laptop interest and eligibility process. Additional information regarding eligibility and laptop distribution will be provided to registered participants. This is another way we are working to make this experience about more than one day. We want individuals and families to leave connected to technology, tools, resources, and opportunities that can continue making an impact long after September 26. 500 Laptops. Expanding Access. Creating Opportunity. 🌟 WHAT CAN FAMILIES EXPECT? Throughout the day, children, youth, adults, and families will have opportunities to: 📚 Meet children's and youth authors and discover the power of books, writing, and storytelling. 📖 Receive FREE books while supplies last and experience the joy of reading. 🎤 Hear from inspiring speakers, mentors, educators, and community leaders who will encourage young people to dream bigger and believe in what is possible. 🚀 Participate in interactive workshops designed to build literacy, creativity, confidence, communication, leadership, career awareness, and life skills. 💻 Explore technology and digital access opportunities, including information about the 500 laptops available to eligible youth and adults through Techquity. 🤝 Connect with community organizations offering valuable programs, services, opportunities, and resources for children, youth, adults, and families. 🎒 Access school, literacy, and family resources while supplies last. 🎉 Enjoy music, interactive activities, performances, giveaways, and family fun throughout the day. Whether a young person dreams of becoming an author, entrepreneur, engineer, artist, educator, healthcare professional, pilot, athlete, community leader, or something they haven't even discovered yet, we want them to leave knowing: Your voice matters. Your story matters. Your dreams matter. Your future is filled with possibility. 📝 REGISTRATION INFORMATION Registration is requested so we can properly prepare for families, workshops, activities, seating, giveaways, and resources. Please register EVERY person who will attend. Every person attending, including each child, should be registered individually. For children, please use a parent or guardian's email address and contact information. Please do not use a child's email address. Important event updates, instructions, and follow-up information will be sent to the adult contact information provided during registration. ⏰ ARRIVE EARLY! The event begins promptly at 10:00 AM. We encourage families to arrive early to allow time for check-in and to be seated for our opening experience. 🤝 COMMUNITY RESOURCES — CONNECTING THE DOTS An important part of Together We Create 4 Kids is making sure families know about the resources that already exist within our community. There are incredible organizations serving Milwaukee every day, but families cannot access a resource if they don't know it exists. That's why we are bringing community organizations together in one space. Families will have opportunities to connect with organizations serving children, youth, adults, men, women, seniors, and families in areas such as education, employment, mentoring, health and wellness, housing, financial education, family support, youth development, disability services, legal resources, and more. Our goal is simple: Bring the resources to the people. Connect the dots.
