OMJ Jazz & Etno: Riikka Keränen Quartet

Join us at RioLive on 17 December for an evening of festive jazz. Born in Oulu, Riikka Keränen is one of Finland's most compelling jazz vocalists. Her music blends elements of post-bop jazz with a more pop-oriented sensibility, combining warmth, sensitivity and expressive storytelling. One of her greatest strengths is her ability to bring the timeless language of jazz into the present day. A versatile performer, Keränen feels equally at home in concert halls, on festival stages and in intimate jazz clubs. With her rich, honey-toned voice and captivating interpretations, she draws audiences into her musical world. In addition to leading her own ensembles, Keränen is also known as a member of the vocal group Signe, which has received Emma and Teosto Award nominations, and the Emma Award-winning children's music ensemble Megasakki.
