We think it’s time to look at the whole picture, what this work does to us, the relationships and pressures that can leave us feeling trapped, and the organisational and systemic forces shaping how we practise. There is a movement growing of doctors pushing back against the idea that sacrificing ourselves is simply part of being a good doctor, and finding different ways to practise. We want you to leave with a better understanding of the toll this work can take on us, practical ways to recognise and respond to the relationships and pressures that can leave us feeling trapped, and a sense of solidarity with other doctors who believe there has to be a better way to practise. The choice doesn’t have to be put up with it or walk away. Saturday 24 October 2026 2 pm to 5 pm Main Hall, Gorman House, Canberra Speakers and special guests include: Dr Laura Chapman Chapman founder of The Know You Co a Canberra practice built around putting GP wellbeing first and creating more time, autonomy and space for complex medicine. Dr Alexis Badger is a specialist GP, former Australian Army Medical Officer and founder of With Me With You, a practice built specifically around the needs of veterans and first responders. Dr Paula Conroy is a GP and founder of Insight Health Advisory, working at the intersection of health, leadership and performance. Dr Jess Nathan is a GP and founder of Kintsugi Holistic Health, a practice focused on mental health and built around longer consultations, whole-person care and a move away from volume-driven general practice.
