No painting or drawing experience is required. Explore colour, line and composition as you create your own hand-painted silk scarf. You’ll learn how paint moves across the fabric, experiment with techniques and develop a design with guidance throughout. What you’ll learn How to work with silk stretched on a frame. How to apply and combine colours on the fabric. Techniques for creating lines, shapes and colour effects. How to translate a simple idea into a scarf composition. What’s included One 100% silk scarf. All paints, tools and equipment for the session. Practice material to test colours and techniques. Individual guidance as you work. Before you arrive You’re welcome to bring a simple sketch or reference image. Abstract compositions, lines and simple shapes work particularly well. You can also develop your idea during the workshop. Wear clothing you feel comfortable painting in. Please arrive on time to take part in the introduction and make the most of your painting time. Instructor Linsey Myriam Bain is a Montreal designer and founder of BAIN. Her practice brings together silk, leather and an ongoing exploration of colour and materials.
