Free classical music concert opening CCCMF's Eleventh Season featuring works for strings by Benjamin Britten and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Crescent City Chamber Music Festival Free Public Concert No. 1 - CCCMF Eleventh Season Opening Night Concert Trinity Episcopal Church Thursday, October 15, 2026 Doors: 6 PM Pre-Concert Talk and Q&A: 6:30 PM Music: 7 PM In a world filled with constant distractions, this year’s Crescent City Chamber Music Festival promises to provide relief and renewed inspiration with seven free public concerts, Oct. 15–26 in New Orleans that embrace the theme, “Music That Cuts Through the Noise.” Audiences are invited to experience the beauty and authenticity of live chamber music performed by celebrated artists from across the world, performing alongside members of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. For CCCMF’s 11th Season Opening Night Concert, set in the gorgeous sanctuary of Trinity Episcopal Church, Ensemble-in-Residence the Manhattan Chamber Players will join forces with members of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra to bring you to bring you a performance of Benjamin Britten’s delightful and infectious Simple Symphony and his poignant and powerful Lacrhymae (in a rare presentation of its full version for viola and strings), concluding with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s towering Serenade for Strings, led by frequent guest conductor of the LPO Joshua Gersen! CCCMF Founding Artistic Director Luke Fleming leads an informal Pre-Concert Talk and Q&A at 6:30 PM, music starts at 7PM. This is a free concert and no tickets are required.
