Beyond willpower: The science of achieving goals

For far too long, we’ve been told that achieving our goals is simply a matter of being more disciplined or working harder. Behavioural science tells us there’s a better way. Join us for a workshop on setting goals, sustaining motivation and making change stick. We’ll move beyond the familiar “just push through” and “try harder” approach to explore what really helps people change their behaviour. Together, we’ll look at: • Why willpower isn’t the main driver of behaviour change • How to turn knowing what to do into actually doing it • Why small, practical changes can be more sustainable than big, ambitious fixes • How to design goals and environments that make desired behaviours easier to maintain Most importantly, this won’t just be a workshop about theory. You’ll put the strategies into practice through exercises and leave with evidence-based tools you can use, rather than another list of things you “should” be doing.
