Come and celebrate Autumn in a harvest feast of spoken words, poetry and song at The Waldegrave pub, East Harptree. Enjoy this cosy evening of music and spoken word from local poets, singers and musicians, bringing a warm Autumn glow to match the wood burners in this community owned village pub. Featuring The Dorothy Sisters: the new Bristol based collective creating witchy folk for witchy folk. With haunting harmonies they mix modern indie folk with traditional folklore elements of rounds and chanting. Susanna 'Ted' Waters: 'Fire-fueled, true hearted folk' Sarah Mitchell Rogers: a multi-instrumentalist who has played with many bands including The Korgis and Stackridge. Joined by her husband Dan they are no strangers to playing in The Waldy.' Jean Luckett: musician and story teller, transplanted from the cwms of Wales to the combes of the Chew Valley. There’s a story in everything. Also featuring other home grown talent. Tony Watkin: sharing a couple of acoustic songs inspired by the offbeat world of Jake Thackray. Expect wordplay, observational humour and the occasional raised eyebrow. Sometimes risque, always tongue-in-cheek, and delivered with nothing more than a guitar and a mischievous smile. All profits from ticket sales will go to Avon Needs Trees to support their work creating woodlands, boosting biodiversity and increasing people's access to nature in the Chew Valley area.
