Humorous Poetry Workshop with Trowbridge Stanza

Join this Trowbridge Stanza writing workshop on Humorous Poetry led by Andrew Batty on Saturday 7 November at Drawing Projects UK Humorous Poetry Workshop Trowbridge Stanza's November's poetry event is a workshop on humour, very kindly led by Andrew Batty. Andrew writes: "Humour is a very personal experience, and what amuses me may not amuse you. So, I thought the best way to explore this theme is to ask you all to bring to the November meeting a couple of poems you find amusing. They can be by other authors or include one of your own. In the meeting we will read our own selection and explain why they make us smile, laugh or chuckle inside. I really enjoy listening to everyone’s ideas, and I assume you do too, so I thought this would be much better than me trying to decide what makes a funny poem, and it has the added bonus that I don’t have to do much preparation! Please bring a third poem just in case someone else has nicked your favourite and gets to read it first. Nina suggested that after the mid-session coffee break, we each pick a random word or two (or three) and seek to find a funny line or two (or three) around that theme. Obviously no pressure to perform anything, but anyone who wants to give it a go is very welcome. I am not going to suggest you bring your chuckle muscles to the meeting, but it may be worth practising a wry smile." All are welcome to atend this session, and no membership is required. All we ask is that all attendees have read the Poetry Society code of conduct for stanzas. We look forward to sharing some smiles with you.🙂
