Learn about the history of this colourful craft and start making your own rag rug. People have been making rag rugs for years, using recycled fabrics and hessian to make these shaggy, colourful rugs. Join the museum’s Operations Manager, Susie Simmons, for a morning looking into the history of rag rug making, thinking about the sustainability of clothing and textiles through history, and starting your own rag rug. Rag rugs are a great way to upcycle your old clothes (especially t-shirts) so please feel free to bring them along to include and give them a new lease of life! This will be a relaxed-social session, including friendly discussion and a hands-on activity suitable for ages 16+
