FoodJam Goes Nigerian

It's time to spice things up with some authentic Nigerian flavours and vibes at our next FoodJamBangor event! Join us for a fun evening at *YMCA North Down on 12 October 2026 at 7.00pm for FoodJam goes Nigerian** The evening will be all about celebrating the rich, bold tastes and colourful culture of Nigeria. Come hungry, make friends, engage in conversation over delicious food and music. This will be primarily a vegan meal with limited meat plates served. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements. Spaces are limited to 40. If you are unable to book a table please feel free to come mingle over tea/coffee. All are welcome. This is a pay as you feel event with a minimum suggested donation of £5 to cover food costs, payable on the night. Jollof rice is a popular one-pot West African rice dish simmered in a rich, spiced tomato and pepper broth. Vegan Egusi is a plant-based version of traditional West African Egusi soup or stew, made with nutrient-dense ground melon seeds, palm oil, and leafy greens instead of meat or fish. Fufu isa soft, dough-like staple food from West and Central African cuisine made by boiling and pounding starchy root vegetables like cassava. As a reminder this meal is primarily vegan, so chicken options are limited.
