art @ temperance | "The Funny Drawing Lab"

Come and make doodles, cartoons, comic strips and zines for fun. We're delighted to welcome The Funny Drawing Lab to Temperance for a relaxed and silly morning of drawing, creativity and playful experimentation. Whether you're a lifelong doodler or someone who insists "I can't draw a straight line", you're in exactly the right place. No experience is needed. Through a simple, relaxed process, we'll discover how funny ideas, quirky characters and unexpected stories emerge when you give yourself permission to play. All people, drawing styles and wonderfully wonky doodles are welcome. Materials provided. What to expect • Doodle warm-ups and creative stretches to get your pen moving • Supportive, collaborative creative play • A room full of people convinced they can't draw (including the host, who somehow ended up doing a PhD in arts practice) • Zero judgement and plenty of encouragement • Lots of doodles, sketches, characters and ideas • Fun prompts, creative challenges and humour techniques • Surprising discoveries, accidental masterpieces and the occasional ridiculous cartoon • The chance to create and ink your own cartoon or comic strip by the end of the session Hosted by Clari Searle, creative coach and PhD researcher at the University of the Arts London.
