Mental Health First Aid Training

MHFA training for Spring North members—understand mental health, support distress, set boundaries, and respond to crises. Delivered as part of Spring North’s member training programme, this in‑person Mental Health First Aid session gives VCFSE staff, volunteers and trustees the practical skills and confidence to support people experiencing mental distress. Participants will learn how to recognise early signs of poor mental health, offer safe initial support, respond appropriately in a crisis, and understand when and how to use boundaries and referral pathways. The training is grounded in real situations faced across our network, with guided activities, discussion and practical tools that can be applied immediately within your organisation. Attendees will leave with a stronger understanding of mental health, improved confidence in offering first‑line support, and clear steps to help build a safer, more supportive and wellbeing‑focused environment for the communities they serve.
