Date: Saturday 24 April 2027 Location: L40 6JJ Discover the heart of Consciousness-based Education at Maharishi Free School! Join our upcoming Open Day to immerse yourself in a nurturing, academically rich environment—absolutely free to attend. Explore our welcoming campus in West Lancashire, meet staff, and experience why our pupils stand out for their calm focus, resilience, and depth of understanding. Engage with our unique educational philosophy rooted in Transcendental Meditation and the ‘knower’ at the centre of learning, ensuring each student flourishes holistically. Learn how we support every child—regardless of background—in achieving their full potential in a purpose-driven, values-led school community. Admissions are open for Reception (via the Local Authority by January), and for other year groups directly through school. Open Days are your gateway to understanding our distinctive approach. Key highlights Inclusive & Oversubscribed: We admit every pupil without regard to ability, background, or need, and frequently experience high demand—especially in secondary—though we ensure seamless transitions from our primary phase. Consciousness-based Education (CbE): This unique approach places the ‘knower’—the pupil—at the heart of learning, enriched through Transcendental Meditation (TM) and the "Word of Wisdom" to build greater focus, emotional resilience, and self-awareness. Beautiful, Well-Equipped Campuses: Our primary site is nestled in traditional stone buildings overlooking scenic Lancashire countryside; the nearby secondary phase is conveniently located just half a mile away. Curriculum & Well-being in Balance: We follow the national curriculum within small mixed-ability classes (capped at ~20 pupils), enriched by CbE, healthy lifestyle practices, mindful tech use, core values, and strong personal development support. Ofsted Praises Our Ethos: Inspectors recognized our ability to foster pupils who are thoughtful, empathetic, articulate, and mature - proving the power of putting spiritual and personal development at the core of everything. Open Days & Tours Available: Prospective parents are strongly encouraged to attend an Open Day—or arrange a tour—to fully understand the practical and philosophical strengths of CbE, including clarity on both school and parental responsibilities. Admissions Pathways: Reception (Primary): Apply via your Local Authority by mid January - name Maharishi School as your first choice to maximise your chances. Other Year Groups (including Year 7): Complete our online application form - if full, your child will be placed on the waiting list.
